Why I Refuse to Treat Multiple Patients at One Time

If you've ever been to a traditional outpatient physical therapy clinic, this might sound familiar:

You arrive for your appointment, spend a few minutes with your physical therapist, and then get started on some exercises. Your therapist walks away to check on another patient, comes back to adjust something, and then heads across the room again.

By the end of your appointment, you've been at physical therapy for an hour. But how much of that time did you actually spend with your physical therapist?

This is one of the biggest reasons I started With Ease Physical Therapy.

And it's why I refuse to treat multiple patients at once.

I've Been on the Other Side

Before opening my own practice, I worked in traditional outpatient physical therapy clinics. I know what it's like to have a packed schedule, documentation piling up, and the expectation that you provide excellent care while managing multiple patients simultaneously.

And to be clear, there are incredibly talented, compassionate physical therapists working in these settings.

It’s not the clinicians who are the problem. It’s the corporate PT system.

And earlier this year, I reached a point where I knew this type of care was totally against my ethics.

Your Appointment Should Actually Be Yours

When you schedule an appointment with me, you're my only patient during that time.

That means I'm there to watch how you move, answer your questions, adjust your exercises, and understand how your symptoms are responding.

Physical therapy requires more than counting repetitions or handing someone a cookie cutter exercise program.

Maybe you're a runner trying to get back to training. Maybe you're a parent who wants to pick up your child without pain. Or maybe you're frustrated because you've tried physical therapy before and never felt like anyone really listened.

I want to know what matters to you, not just where it hurts.

And I don't want to be so busy managing multiple patients that I miss something important you're trying to tell me.

One-on-One Care Doesn't Mean Endless Appointments

Here's something else I believe strongly: my goal isn't to keep you coming to physical therapy forever.

It's to give you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to manage your symptoms and get back to your life.

Some patients need more frequent appointments. Others do well with longer intervals between visits and a structured home program.

I don't believe everyone needs physical therapy three times a week just because that's how it's traditionally been scheduled.

Your treatment frequency should reflect your needs and progress, not an arbitrary number of visits.

Is One-on-One Physical Therapy Worth the Cost?

With Ease Physical Therapy is a cash-based practice, so the upfront cost may seem higher than your copay at an insurance-based clinic.

I understand that cost matters.

But I also want you to understand what you're paying for.

You're receiving dedicated time with a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Your care is individualized, your questions aren't rushed, and your treatment plan is built around your goals.

I Built the Practice I Wanted to Work In

Opening With Ease Physical Therapy wasn't just about becoming a business owner.

It was about having the freedom to practice the way I believe in.

I wanted time to listen. Time to educate. Time to make thoughtful clinical decisions without constantly watching the clock or juggling multiple patients.

I didn't want to measure success by how many people I could fit into an hour.

I wanted to be proud of the care I delivered during that hour.

At With Ease Physical Therapy, your appointment is yours. No double-booking. No rotating between therapists. No cookie cutter exercise handouts.

That’s not something I will ever compromise on.
